Is It Spring Yet?
I love a good winter. I’d like it to stay a consistent temperature range (highs between 45 and 65), snow once a month from November thru February. One good snow that shuts us down for a couple of days (as in no school, no work) with the other snows being deep enough to cover all the grass and look pretty. I really don’t ask for much.
That hasn’t happened this year, it has been all over the place. We had no snow until January. We go up and down in temps from day to day. Last week we went from a bright sunny comfortable day on Friday (I saw cherry trees in full bloom) to snow and rain all day on Saturday. No wonder there are enough colds going around to give Nyquil stock a considerable bump in value this quarter!
But what are you going to do? It’s not like weather is returnable. Each day brings what it is going to bring, no matter what the weather forecasters say. The only weather that is controllable is my own. My husband used to tell our kids that they had to “bring their own weather” with them. He was right (don’t tell him I said that).
Today I choose a bright, clear day full of sunshine. A day of hope, productivity, and promise.
What a great attitude! Snow and sleet are heading our way, but the good news is: it's a good day to stay inside and write.
It's all in the attitude!
Yeah, I took a storm cloud with me to work today and I be damned of it didn't rain and be cold and windy outside all morning!
BTW…You vision of winter matches mine! But it was never that way in Ohio so I had to move to Texas. Now I go visit snow.
I think your sleet is now headed to us :). Actually we're supposed to get some freezing rain very early tomorrow morning. Glad we had sunshine today, going to have to make my own sunshine tomorrow!
I grew up (mostly) in Idaho and I seem to remember it that way (though you know how kid memories can be). Oh well, in North Carolina we tend to be mild – so I enjoy the snow when it does come. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you leave the storm cloud home tomorrow and get sunshine outside!
You know it!
The weather up here blows! I am so sick of winter. We haven't gotten a lot of snow, although my family in Connecticut was buried a couple weeks ago (hey, that rhymes!). Oh, should go without saying "buried in snow." They're not dead. As far as I know.
I am so looking forward to warmer weather when I can wear shorts and work in the yard with my shirt off.
Although the neighbors would probably disagree with the whole shirtless thing.
We have had really mild winter here for Colorado. I do not like the winters per se but to kill off germs is always a good thing. You never know what weather is going to be like here.

Our weather doesn't change all that much over here. In fact, its remained fairly static for the last few months; @70F. But never fear, summer is coming and, for the next six months, it'll be nothing but hot.
Thanks Naila, how sweet! I lived in Denver for a year many years ago, loved it there.
Can't imagine, thank goodness for air conditioning!
