I read a blog post yesterday that really connected. It was on Emily P. Freeman’s site and was all about content filter<\/a> – sparked out of her attendance of a Taylor Swift concert. The gist of the article was how all artist have (or should have) a content filter. The content filter is what everything they do is run through to see if it belongs. For Emily, her content filter is “creating space for your soul to breathe<\/a>“. There are other names for it in other mediums. In organizations it could be called a purpose or mission statement.<\/p>\n
As a blog writer and the occasional “other” writer (and yes, for some reason I have signed up for NaNoWriMo<\/a> this year with no solid idea of what I’m going to attempt to write) I realize that I have not identified my content filter. This has taken solid root and I am on a quest to identify and take hold of my own content filter.<\/p>\n
My thoughts so far are:<\/p>\n

Vegan living in a carnivore world (but I’m afraid people will think I’m a vegan which I am not, I really mean emotionally -but I just like the phrase)<\/li>\n
Embracing the goody-two shoes life<\/li>\n
Shallow pool living in an extreme sport society<\/li>\n
Choosing trust in a non-trustworthy world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
I’m going to keep working on this. I’m sure I have a content filter, I think we all do, it’s just a matter of identifying it and actively using it in my writing (and probably my life).<\/p>\n
