Well here it is the end of 2012. It has been a challenging year, and frankly I’m glad it is over. I’m squeezing this post in during the last few minutes of the year.<\/p>\n

Yesterday my family sat down at lunch and did a little exercise. My husband asked us to each come up with three good memories of anything from this past year. It was amazing what we came up with, some were big things and some were little things – but as we shared them we realized that even with the tough times, a lot of good things had happened. I found that listening to the good memories of others in the family made me happy – even if I was not a part of that particular memory. Hearing those memories over lunch pulled me out of the funk I had been in all weekend.<\/p>\n

I’m not making resolutions this year, I find them to be a waste of time. I do however like taking an assessment of my life at the end of the year and setting my sights on new heights. This is especially poignant for me considering my birthday is New Years Eve (Happy Birthday to Me<\/i>).<\/p>\n

My sights are set on:<\/p>\n

My writing.<\/b> This year I will decide what to do with my writing. I have finished my children’s book manuscript and will have to decide whether to go for traditional publishing or self-publish through Smashwords<\/a> (or something similar).<\/p>\n

Income.<\/b> This year I will look to make more money. I’m not sure how yet – but it needs to happen and it will. I will explore the options available to me and see what doors open.<\/p>\n

Fun. <\/b>I have found myself settled into a rut, and my husband and I agree we need to break out and have more fun. I’m not sure what that looks like – but I intend to find out.<\/p>\n
