When I married nearly 30 years ago – it was with the intention of forever (as I assume most marriages start). But no one could have adequately explained to me what that would feel like, look like, smell like, or be like.<\/p>\n
My mother wrote poetry. My eldest niece is a published poet. My husband’s grandmother loved poetry. But truthfully, I don’t “get” most poetry (however I do enjoy some Henry Wadsworth Longfellow – like The Wreck of the Hesperus<\/strong><\/em> and Evangeline<\/strong><\/em><\/strong>). I am not a poet (even though I did enjoy writing Haiku<\/strong> in the seventh grade).<\/p>\n But with thirty of years of marriage approaching in the next few weeks, some words come to mind that describe these last thirty years. A study in opposites – I view none of them as negative.<\/p>\n Long, short<\/em><\/span><\/strong> It’s not Longfellow, but it’s my heart.
