Hurricanes, NFL protests, wildfires, Las Vegas massacre, North Korea missile tests, Harvey Weinstein – the world has had no shortage of bad news while I’ve been off my website (that’s another story). In pondering what to publish for my first article in a while – there was plenty to choose from.<\/p>\n

But I choose not to dwell on those things.<\/p>\n

Philippians 4:8<\/a> tells me to” think on those things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, praiseworthy”.<\/p>\n

This doesn’t mean I ignore the unjust, evil, or tragic circumstances happening around me. It doesn’t mean I don’t form opinions, work to correct what I can, or downplay the impact they have on our world.<\/p>\n

But it does mean my focus is on the good, not the bad, my sights are set on working for a better future, not on vengeance for the past. It means my attitude is one of hope and not of despair. It means my heart embraces love not anger.<\/p>\n

I have a choice – I choose light not darkness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
