Adventure . . . one of my favorite things
Yes, this is me riding a camel! I was in Petra, Jordan in February of 2007 – definitely an adventure! I love adventure, be it big ones like taking off and spending two weeks in Israel (and a day in Petra) or “medium” ones like spending a week in California with our three kids and my husband’s mom a couple of years ago. I also enjoy the “small” adventures like a multi-generational family girls weekend away to the beach in the summer. I need adventure in my life. One of the great adventures for me started two years ago today – when Alex and Arlee invited me to participate in the A to Z Blogging Adventure. I am grateful to them for their blogging friendship and encouragement. Thank you Arlee Bird for starting this blogging challenge and bringing so many of us along on the adventure of blogging!
Oh man, I dream of going to Petra! But I have had my share of adventure including a camel ride in Egypt. 🙂
It seems like you thrive on adventure, Sheila!
I can imagine the amount of stories you have tucked away…
And we're glad you are part of the Challenge adventure!
Did that camel spit on you?
Will be headed there in a week…
Doesn't look like the comfiest way to travel, but I'm sure it was fun!

Riding on a camel would be a fun adventure! I am happy that you had a great time, and from your picture….you did! I loved your post, and it made me think…..I gotta find alittle adventure in my life! Ha Ha…..I really don't venture out too far these days, use to! Thanks for sharing your adventure!! http://www.sandysanderellasmusings.blogspot.com
Happy April. This is a great post. It seems you approach things as small or large challenges to be embraced and relished.
We didn't get to go to Egypt, though we did get awfully close. We stayed in Eilat, Israel for a couple of nights. Glad I rode the camel, not sure if I'd do it again though!
I am trying to tuck away the memories!
No, the camel did not spit. It was very patient with me :).
Cool! It should be a little warmer than it was when we were there (February), it actually gets cool because it is "down". Have fun and post pictures on your blog!
My husband swears it was very comfortable with the "rocking" motion. I didn't think that . . .
Find your adventure Sandy – you can do it!
I try Elaine! Happy April to you too :).
Oh, that looks like a fabulous adventure! I love to travel, but definitely like to mix adventure with relaxation.
I've always thought that riding a camel would be rather uncomfortable. But having adventures? Now those are supposed to be a touch uncomfortable because you go beyond your comfort zone!
Looking forward to the rest of the challenge!
How exciting! And I love the globe on your sidebar. Fascinating!
What a cool picture. I really need to get more adventurous. One day.
Good Luck!
