Emotionally Quieter
It is quieter now, which is really funny because it shouldn’t make that much difference. Last Saturday I drove our eldest son back to school. We laughed about how much he took, or should I say didn’t take. This is his third year and he took about a third of what he took his freshman year.
Back to home. It’s quieter since he’s gone, emotionally quiet. Don’t get me wrong, with a 17 year old and a 13 1/2 year old still at home – there’s still plenty of emotion flying around! But still, with one gone (and it being his third year away), it’s just quieter.
This is a new kind of adjustment.
Just focus on the two still at hope. It will be all right.
Both kids are going back to college this weekend. He for his senior year at Virginia Tech (meaning he's "off the payroll" in less than a year) and she for her sophomore year at Kutztown University.
By Sunday evening, Mrs. Penwasser will have had just about enough of me.
The good news about our son: he was offered an engineering job (not trains) in Virginia Beach next summer.
Ahhhhhhhh…………
