Ice Cream (Cones of Course!)
There was a time in my childhood that we lived only blocks from “downtown”. Summer was spent walking to the public library every day, walking to Taco Time for $1 tacos, and best of all, after supper in the early evening hours – walking to the Arctic Circle Drive In for ice cream cones. My favorite memory of this is walking the 6 blocks home with the cones in a cardboard holder and licking the edges as they dripped (I sometimes wonder if this really happened or I made it up – surely my brother and I didn’t do that). Ice cream cones – plain vanilla soft serve – nothing beats it on a warm summer evening.

We only have Dairy Queens around here, but I agree on the ice cream. Nothing like it in the summer.
I remember Hart's Drugstore down the street from my grandmother's house. We used to love going there for good old fashion soda fountain treats. The root beer floats were the best!
