L + ost = LOST
Today I’m taking a break from my word of the day to highlight a series I just finished watching. My husband and I love taking on long, cumulative series, but we can only handle one at a time it seems. We watched Alias with Jennifer Garner and loved it (though we did take a break in the middle when it got a little weird and slow). Then we watched all 8 seasons of 24 with Keifer Sutherland. We never started with LOST though we had many friends who did. Last fall we started watching it on Netflix streaming after the series ended. Fortunately no one told us how it ended and yesterday we were finally able to finish it. I will not provide any spoilers in case you haven’t seen it and are going to. If you haven’t, I highly recommend it if you like intricate character development, multiple story lines, and a touch of the supernatural.
Though I do not agree with it theologically, I do love a good story – and this one is indeed a good one. The title stands for many things throughout the storyline and can be interpreted many ways. I love stories like that. J.J. Abrams has a gift, and I appreciate that he shares that gift with us. He inspires me to do the best I can with the gifts I am given. I’m glad that his gift was not lost to us, that was only the title he chose to use.
Don’t let your gift (no matter what it may be – we all have one) be lost, share it with the world around you.
Lost has a new meaning now 🙂 Whenever I see the word the TV series is the first thing I think about. I loved the show. What did truly make it wonderful were the characters. Did you fall in love with Jack? I sure did 🙂
I started watching it through netflixs as well. Got through 3 seasons and believe it or not I lost interest. I stopped caring about the story and the characters.
And I am the only person I know who that happened to. Strange. Wonder why it didn't stick for me and it was such a hugely successful show?
While I never really got in to the program LOST, your advice about not letting one's gift be lost is great advice.
Thanks,
Donna V.

I have never seen any of the Lost series. It appears I have 'lost' out somewhere.
Good advice! I watched the series and really enjoyed it. I agree with you, JJ Abrams is very gifted and I'm also glad he shares!
I was sorely disappointed by the ending. They dragged me along teasing me with secrets, but never once answered the big questions. The last season took a hard left turn from the premise, and never went back. Lost used to be my favorite show. Sorry for the rant, they burned me.
Excellent post! Lost is a phenomenal series and I was sad to see it go. Every good story must come to an end.
Also, I love your little piece of encourage at the end about using "your gifts." I completely agree!
Nice blog!
Alias was a great series, watched it all. 24 was my all time favorite series. I am still sad a year later that it is no longer on. And Lost, wow, what a trip. I do not know how Abrams keeps all those plot lines in his mind. Great show and great post!
So glad you got to finish the series! We never missed it! Tried watching 24 on netflix- way to intense for me before bedtime!
LOST = Ah. Yes. Great show!! 🙂 We just finished season one of 24. It's a great one also. 🙂
