Lesson Learned in 2014

I learned most of all that I can’t do it all.
I learned that I must make choices, not necessarily between good and bad, nor even good and best. But simply – make choices. Evaluate the situation I am in, look at the environment around me, and choose what will bring me the most peace (which doesn’t always mean doing what is the easiest).
For me that means I must first take a moment (or two) before choosing anything. I then need to look at the choice(s) with both my head and my heart and let them battle it out for a bit if they are in conflict. Then I will pray about it and find out where my peace lies.
I can’t do it all – but I can do a lot.
Being frustrated with indecision is something I can relate to, especially after the year I've had. My husband is fond of telling me that I don't need to get everything done, just prioritize and make lists. I learned in 2014 that checking things off a list can be quite satisfying and little things, like do the dishes, can become major accomplishments.
