Looking for Something to Do?

I am trying to imagine being in the position in life where I am “looking for something to do”. A friend and I were discussing that at work yesterday. I admit, I just can’t get my head around that one. Some of my friends are grandmothers (you know who you are!), but I have a senior in high school, a freshman in high school, and a 5th grader. It’s eight years before they are all gone. Even then, I don’t anticipate things slowing down, just shifting around. Though I am looking forward to next year when my youngest doesn’t have to be at school until 8:30am – that will mean no more 5:45am wake up calls for me so that I can get her up at 6am (bus comes at 6:45am – the price of attending a magnet school).
What is it that keeps me busy? If I take the kid quotient out (school, scouts, youth group, music lessons, sports, etc.), I’m still left with my husband, my friends, the house, my jobs, my church, my writing . . . oh yes, my writing.
That’s why I’ll never have to “look for something to do” – I will always have my writing.
What do you have?
My recommended blog today is: Blackwell Begins – give Samantha a try – and a follow too if you will.
I hear you! My kids are twelve and eight and I'm a substitute teacher, so I'm pretty busy. When I'm home alone, I write.
