Thankful Thursday
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I had my writers support group – what a blessing it is to me. We set personal and group goals, encouraged each other, and committed to honest feedback, not just “attaboys”.
My husband drove to Asheville and brought home our firstborn from his first year of college. Though we have to learn the dance of reintegration, I am thankful to have all my children under one roof again. I know those days are numbered.
I had lunch with a good friend yesterday. We laughed, we vented, we encouraged, we chatted. Good friends are to be cherished.
Life is good.
Does your son attend UNC Asheville?
Loved your post. All of us have so much to be thankful for. You inspired me to thank God anew for the gifts of today. ENJOY HAVING YOUR SON HOME!!! Nothing like a full house! My sons know that my heart overflows to the same degree that the driveway is filled with their vehicles, my couches are beds to their buddies and my washing machine is filled with their laundry! Count it all joy!
Yes he does – he loves it. Though he had some rough spots with roommates – he loves the school and the area.
Thank you Elaine.
Yesterday I spent the day with a bunch of women who complained about their grown kids coming home. I'm appalled at such talk! I look at my handsome stepson and my beautiful daughter and marvel at the people they've become–and sometimes cry in the privacy of my shower that they're grown. I can't grab them and hold them tight and pummel them with kisses. They grew up way too fast. That is definitely a time in my life I would do over–being a stay at home mom with kids was incredibly fun.
Enjoyed your post. : )
They are adorable ,excellent entry Sheila 🙂
