Thursday Tidbits
Yesterday I was at my Dad’s visiting and I asked him what kind of plant he wanted me to get for his front porch (well, it’s not really a porch, not a patio, a stoop?) Guess what he asked for? A sweet banana pepper plant and a pot of marigolds. I’ll be headed to the nursery this weekend.
On my front porch I have no plants, on my back deck my daughter has two tomato plants, a pot of mixed flowers, and a marigold plant. She has the green thumb inherited from both her grandmothers (it seems to have skipped me).
Ten days until our oldest son graduates from high school. Can’t wait!
Six weeks until our family beach vacation. Why is it that 90 degrees at the beach is workable but at home I want to stay in the air conditioning?
Have a Therapeutic Thursday!
I love banana peppers! They're great on sandwiches. I have a decent garden on the back patio this year. A ton of herbs, including pineapple mint, tomatoes, green bell peppers, hot peppers and squash. The pesky, interloping squirrels dug too many holes and killed my spinach before it even had a chance.
Congrats on your son's high school graduation! What an exciting time for you and your family. And enjoy your beach vacation. I think the reason we are willing to overlook 90 degree weather is because the ocean is there, willing to cool us off. Plus, you get a better tan.
Just potted a bunch of flowers. None of them were banana peppers, but they're pretty and add a lot of color. I'll try em next year.
I think we tolerate warm weather at the beach because it would stink to go in the winter. It would be too cold to swim and umbrella drinks would only make us colder. It's better to have warm weather so we can fully enjoy all the aformentioned things.
Sheila, I've picked 5 zuchinni, and a cucumber out of my garden already!
Can't believe IV is graduating! He was just born yesterday!
Congratulate him for me!
Ninety degrees at the beach is still too hot for me. I shall spend my summer hiding in the AC.
Well, it's uncharacteristically cool and rainy for Sacramento at this time of year. Maybe that's why my Christmas cactus is blooming. Go figure!
I can't believe your dad had a plan for his porch. LOL
I have to take a picture of my small porch. I must say, I did it so pretty. I even bought a really cool pineapple lantern. 🙂
