Valentine Proposal
Greensboro College |
23 years ago today my husband knocked on my apartment door at 6:30am. Stumbling to the door half asleep I let him in and asked him what he was doing. All he would say is “get dressed, let’s go”. He wouldn’t even let me get my contacts in. So I splashed some water on my face, got dressed, combed my hair and out the door we went. We walked two blocks over to Greensboro College, his alma mater. Wandering around in the crisp morning air he led me to a bench under a large oak tree and proceeded to propose.
At the ripe old age of 32 and 28, we had found ourselves in each other only three months earlier. Two months later (April 15), we married in front of friends and family. It was the best Valentine’s ever.
Happy Valentine’s Day . . .
Sweet story!
He scored big, didn't he? And twenty-three years together is awesome.
Now that's a unique way of asking a woman to marry you, isn't it? Congratulations to both of you and Happy V-day to you as well.
