The First Day
My family managed to stay up to midnight and we toasted the new year with Diet A&W Root Beer. That’s what happens when you forget to get the sparkling grape juice, or champagne, or even ginger ale. The lesson learned was not to dwell on what we DIDN’T have, but use what we DID with joy and gladness.
The plan for 2010 is to use that same philosophy. Don’t dwell on what you DON’T have, but use what you DO. Does this mean I won’t strive to obtain new skills, new habits, new experiences? Absolutely not. But I’m not going to dwell on what ISN’T – I will strive for more and whatever comes – I will use.
I encourage you to do the same. Strive for MORE, but be content (at peace) with what IS.
