Pedicures . . . one of my favorite things
Pedicures for Aruba |
So, the best pedicure I ever had was when I was pregnant with my third child. I was as big as a house (ask anyone – they’ll agree) and couldn’t reach my toes to save my life. At the end of October I went and had a pedicure. It was wonderful to have my feet scraped, moisturized, rubbed and pampered. I chose a bright red polish for my nails. I tell you, when I went in to deliver a week later – my feet looked GREAT! Sometimes, it’s the little things that get you through the tough spots. Now my husband and I go in quarterly TOGETHER and get pedicures. At Christmas time he even had his toenails painted red and green, I stuck with the traditional red. Pedicures – a most enjoyable luxury!
I have three daughters, 17, 15, and almost 13. The older two loved being pampered and constantly suggest to me that we go for a girls' outing to have a mani-pedi. I don't know why I resist, especially after what you've described here.
You've given me reason to think about it again. 🙂
Btw, I hope you enjoyed all the delicious foods that are eaten (I did!) during pregnancy to justify being as big as a house – it was worth it to me. 🙂
Pedicures are really, truly awesome. But wouldn't that just be the worst job in the world? Ew, ew, ew!
Okay, I can think of worse jobs (some of which I've actually done myself).
I keep saying I'm going to get one – haven't gone in awhile! – and now maybe after this post, I'll go! 🙂
My daughter and I have a springtime ritual. The first week we can wear flip flops again, we go to our favorite nail salon and get our toes sandal ready. We make a day of it – pedicures, smoothies, and a new pair of shorts.
O me too, believe it or not!! When back home, my wife and I go together and have a pedicure, minus the toe nail paint for me. It's just awesome!
I love pedicures. Sis gave me a gift certificate for one a few years ago. Oh.My.Gosh. Really miss them when money and time get tight and I don't get one. I'm rough on my fingernails, so hate to have them done. The pedi though, just makes me smile. Sometimes we need a reason to smile.
