Rhubarb
Rhubarb plants are really cool. Even if you don’t care for the stuff, the plant is neat. The only time I really remember having rhubarb was in high school when my mother decided to grow it. We lived in a mobile home park and she decided it would be a good plant to help disguise the trailer tongue on the front of our home and give us another food to fix. She was right, the plants grew HUGE and covered the whole thing. I can vaguely remember the pies she made from the red stalks. Technically rhubarb is a vegetable, but people use it like a fruit and make pies. Actually, I don’t remember people eating it any other way than in pie. Seems like they were okay, maybe I’ll grow some and see if my kids like rhubarb pie (not likely).

We had stewed rhubarb just yesterday. Wish I could say it was from our garden, but no such luck as all our efforts to grow it have resulted in such puny plants. No chance of making a rhubarb pie (a favourite of mine) with them.
I can remember eating rhubarb right from the ground when I was little. I would dip the stalk in a little bit of sugar to cut the bitterness and eat it up! I've never actually had rhubarb pie though! Weird, right?
rhubard pie is the best!
While not a fan of pie usually, rhubarb is my one exception to the rule!! I lovvvvvees me some rhubarb…so glad to have found you, and thanks so much for stopping by my blog too!
I've had rhubarb pie and thought it was all right. I'm not a big pie eater though.

My grandma used to make strawberry-rhubarb pie. Yum!
Visiting from A/Z; I never have had rhubarb although I see rhubarb pies all the time, especially around Thanksgiving time. Good luck with the rest of the challenge!

Would you believe I have never tried rhubarb?
I've had rhubarb pie a few times and it wasn't that bad—it wasn't that good either. I mean, I wouldn't go out of my way for a piece of rhubarb pie.

The plant is very cool dare I say photogenic…I do not like it as a food source.
It does look like a neat plant, but I don't remember ever eating it yet.
I have never grown rhubarb and I have always been happy to receive the fresh young stocks when my neighbours have too much. I make rhubarb sauce by boiling with sugar on the stove. very yummy on ice cream.
thanks for the memories of fresh rhubarb visiting from a to z challenge
Rhubarb strawberry pie is really nice! I'va also tried a rhubarb raspberry yogurt that is quite delicious. 🙂 It would seem that mixing it with red fruit makes it more enjoyable.
O the British are big eaters of Rhubarb! It tastes okay. Christopher dislikes it. And thanks for the information on the plant itself.
